houseと比べてhomeの方があたたかいニュアンスがあるので、
homeが「里」つまり「故郷」になりますが、英米人は日本人ほど里意識がありません。
例）
It feels good to go home to see your parents and put some flowers on our ancestor’s grave.
里帰りして親の顔を見て、ご先祖様のお墓参するのは気持ちがいいものだよ。
