You should goのほうが実は丁寧。

言ったほうがいいよと言いたニュアンスになるので、

should＝べきという発想はやめたほうがいいです。

例）

You should go.

言ったほうがいいと思うよ。

I might as well do

乗り気ではないが、選択肢があまりない場合に使われる表現です。

例）

I might as well go there.

そこまで行きたくないが、言ってみようかな（言ったほうがいいかもね）。

というような曖昧な意味で使いますよね。それもあって、wouldの使い方が曖昧になるのかもしれません。

wouldは、形式的には、willの過去形

過去形のwouldの意味は「過去では〜ばかりしていた」とういニュアンスになります。
