sitは座るという意味がありますが、
it, get, putと同じく英語で頻繁に使われる割に、
多くの方が苦手とする英会話における重要な動詞です。
発音も含めきっちり使いこなせるようになっておきたいものですよね。
ビッグバン・セオリーというコメディードラマ（sitcom/シットコム）にも、
痔の薬の宣伝の場面で出てくるフレーズででてきていました。
sticomは、座って見るコメディードラマという意味になります。

例）

終わりまでじっとしている
例）

その退屈な授業を最後までじっと聞いていた。

きちんと座る、シャンとしてと座る
例）

ゆっくり座って待つ
例
