〜が必要
It won’t take long.
あまり時間はかからないでしょう。
のように
「もの」や「こと」を主語に取ることが多いですが、
I won’t take long.
あまり時間はかけないつもりです。
I took two years to complete this job.
この仕事を完成させるのに２年かかった。
というように
「人」を主語にしても
「かける」「必要とする」という意味で使われます。
例）
It takes 30 minutes to get there.
そこへ行くのには３０分かかる。
例）
It took me weeks to recover from the sickness.
その病気から回復するのに数週間かかった。
I took weeks to recover from the illness.
例）
The car takes much gas.(=gasoline)
その車は多くのガソリンが必要。
→燃費が悪い。
例）
It takes some getting used to.
それには慣れが必要です。
例）
All it takes is a little kindness to others.
必要なのは他人へのちょっとしたいたわりです。
（ All I need is 〜と似てますね。）
