A lump in the throat
「心のつっかかり」という意味です。
上記写真のヘビイチゴや、
角砂糖やチーズのような塊をlumpと呼びます。
直訳すると、
「喉につっかかった塊」になり、
なかなか飲み込めない厄介な感覚ということになります。
消化不良に近いイメージです。
